Another day, Another story about HOA fraud

Today’s story is about former Lake Redwine homeowners association manager Melissa Delaine Reason. Melissa has pleaded guilty to charges of forgery and four counts of unlawful use of a financial transaction card. Melissa was sentenced to 15 years probation, ordered to pay $5,000 in restitution to the HOA, and will have to serve four weekend in jail. While Melissa was association manager for Lake Redwine she made charges on the association credit cards ranging from veterinary services, Paypal, Amazon, Netflix, to moving companies to relocate a family member. She also tried to submit fraudulent statements to cover up her charges.  Stories like this are why financial transparency is so important in an HOA. To read more about this story visit here.
